So Disappointed!!

I am so disappointed!  This morning I ran some errands so I decided to pay a visit to my local quilt shoppe.  The one and only shoppe within 30 miles of me.  Because of my busy schedule, I hadn't been there in a few months.  When I got there I saw that the place was empty!!  What???  What ever am I going to do now??  I'm not really fond of the fabric they have at Joann's so I guess I will just have to make the trek to the one 30 miles away.  I really hate to hear of a shop closing.  But I guess it's just a sign of the times.

  1. It is so sad when a business closes. I know we had the same thing happen in town for our needlepoint shop. They just had everything you could want and then one day...poof...they were gone.

Sure don't blame you for driving the extra distance. I have been disgusted with what I find at our JoAnns as well.

  2. My favorite quilt shop closed also. There are a couple others, but they never have what I'm looking for. I don't buy fabric at JoAnn's either. I buy online now.

  3. My local quilt shop is still open and I hope it stays that way for a long time. Sorry to hear about yours. Colleen

  4. I know what you mean, Angie...all I have to pick from is Joann's - and I'm not always thrilled with the selection. Maybe you can make it into a fun trip...I'm sure there must be some neat shops along the way you can poke around in.
    Enjoy your weekend dear.

  5. Oh, how sad. I think I'd also make the trip to buy the fabric I want at other shops since that one is closed.

  6. Sorry to hear about this! I always hate it when a favorite store closes down, and when it's a fabric store or craft hoo!!!! :( I have a love/hate relationship with JoAnns, but I do like their 40% off coupons!

  7. What a bummer!

  8. It is always sad to hear a local store closes, I also have a love-hate feeling for JoAnns. I just emailed the corporate people about the store I have closest to me, not pretty. Well maybe you will find a new fabric shop on your travel :)

  9. That is so sad! I don't have a real great relationship with my local Jo-Anns either! Luckily, there are 3 good quilting stores around here where I live, 2 local, one a bit of a drive, and I support them as best as I can! It makes me sad when local shops close, and we are only left with the big stores.

  10. Thanks everyone! I guess the big chains are just gobbling up all of the little quaint stores. There are two huge Joann's within 15 miles of me. How can the smaller shops compete with that?? The only thing I really ever buy at Joann's is muslin and a few supplies, like needles, thread, floss, etc. Thanks for all the comments. It's nice to know others feel the same way.
    Have a great weekend everyone!!

Thank you for your sweet comment. It really means a lot to me!
